The bathroom barely meets hygiene standards, and the dirty shower curtain sticks to your body. I can’t see why they don’t replace it at least once a year, since it looks like it couldn’t cost more than a euro. There’s also no soundproofing at all, so we couldn’t sleep and had to hear the couple next door’s entire lovemaking session. The eclectic decor looks like furniture gathered from all sorts of places over the decades. Paying 300 euros for this room in central Paris was quite an experience. I wouldn’t recommend this dump even to my worst enemy.

The hotel is a bit dated, but clean, and it’s a 3 star place, so I can’t complain. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and the location was great. We were also able to check in early, and there was luggage storage when we left.

The staff looked after everything when we needed to extend our stay, and we enjoyed the wonderful breakfast each day. It’s a great place to stay, close to the metro and tower. Some people complain that the rooms are small, but these are very old buildings that were never meant to be hotels.

The location is central and convenient, but it couldn’t make up for the hotel’s condition or its lack of basic hygiene and comfort. We were a family of three in the 64Club room on the 6th floor, and it was a disaster. The pullout sofa was so old and misshapen it couldn’t be used; the bathroom ceiling had rust stains and what looked like asbestos; dust and debris were everywhere, including a thick layer on the popcorn ceiling; the carpet was filthy; and then a large spider crawled across our bed. The reception area looked recently renovated, but the outdated red rug walls in the elevator made the state of the rest of the hotel clear. We asked for another room, but the front desk said there were no alternatives. We had to leave around 11 p.m. and spend two stressful hours looking for somewhere nearby. This place was extremely disappointing. With rates this high, it doesn’t even meet basic standards; I wouldn’t pay $50 for it, let alone the premium prices they charge. I strongly advise people to avoid it.

The staff were amazing, and the location would have been great, but the park people normally walk through was closed for an event. That meant a substantial amount of extra walking to get to Paris attractions. The hotel itself also needs a refresh.
