Elysees Opera Hotel

I don't recommend this at all. At 4am, I left my room because there were bedbugs in my bed. I reported it, but the director completely denied it, even though the night duty staff member had seen one with his own eyes and touched it. I had marks on my body and had captured a bedbug on my phone. The customer service and support were hugely disappointing. I ended up moving to another hotel that was cleaner and handled things better.

We stayed at Elysées Opéra Hôtel from the 16th to the 20th of July 2025. My wife had asked for no room service during that time and put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. I bought her a watch in Paris, but after we got home and unpacked, it was missing from our luggage. I contacted the hotel and asked them to investigate. For over a month, they didn't even reply to me or the travel agency. They only responded negatively after I said I would write a review. Very disappointing. Be careful if you choose this hotel.

The hotel was very clean and nice, and the location was great. Both receptionists were friendly and sweet. I'm happy I chose to book here. One of the receptionists did his best to speak German with me, which was very sweet. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the location: a quiet street, a nearby metro, Montmartre within walking distance, and boulangeries and good places to eat all around. The balcony room was a great choice, because the balcony was easily the highlight. We arrived around 11am after a 4am start and our room was ready, which was fantastic news. The building felt lived in, with some scuffed paint and crumbling plaster. Nothing dramatic, but not quite what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The aircon in our room wasn't working. We flagged it, but nothing happened. April was cool enough that we didn't melt, though in summer it could be a deal breaker. The bed was adequate, but not especially luxurious. One morning there was no hot water; the staff arranged showers for us at a nearby sister hotel. Not ideal, but we appreciated the help. I tried breakfast once. It was fine, nothing special, and I wouldn't book it next time. We ended up going out for a pastry anyway, though my partner was happy enough with breakfast. The coffee machine in reception was a nice touch, and it was handy to grab a quick Nespresso pod before heading out. If you're mainly out exploring and want a decent place to sleep at a fair price for Paris, this will do the job, especially if a balcony matters to you. If you want to spend hours relaxing in a luxurious hotel bed, it might not be your kind of place.
