Hotel Elysées Paris

The hotel is above a bar and faces the street, so the noise made it impossible to sleep. The second room we were moved to wasn’t any better. Our first room was dirty, beside the kitchen, and smelled strongly of rancid food. There was trash on the floor and the hygiene was poor overall. We’d booked a month ahead, yet they couldn’t change our room. It was overpriced and nowhere near worth its rating. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff made a real difference. Everyone we met was warm and welcoming, and they helped us book restaurants, figure out transportation, and find a few local favorites we hadn’t seen in the guidebooks. Having the snack bar open all night was another great touch. We could get tea or a late-night bite without going outside. The room was spotless and elegant, surprisingly quiet for such a central location, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We were also perfectly placed for getting around, just a short walk from the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. It was everything we’d hoped for and more.

We found it through a Disney YouTuber I follow, and now I understand the recommendation. It’s affordable, new and clean, with rooms that are spacious enough. The room was quiet, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There are restaurants and grocery stores a short walk away, a laundromat nearby, and a shopping mall right across the road. The hotel also runs a free shuttle to Disneyland at set times. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good affordable hotel near the park.

Our rooms were small and had no AC. The worst part was being robbed in the middle of the night. The front desk attendant refused to call the police, claiming they wouldn’t come to the hotel. Instead, staff called us a cab to the police station. Once there, the police told us they couldn’t do anything because we’d come to them, and that they absolutely would have come to the hotel. There were fraudulent charges on the credit cards that had been stolen, made at the hotel. Could it have been an inside job? They also wouldn’t let us see the camera footage from around the time of the robbery. They said the camera didn’t cover the area, about 20 feet from the door toward our room, but somehow it covered 20 feet in the other direction. BS.
