Experimental Marais

The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly, but breakfast is terrible and wildly overpriced. On our first try, we waited 12 minutes for menus and left. The next time I ordered a €15 “cheese” plate and a €15 “meat” plate. The meat was three pieces of bland ham, with a bit of cheese, all just dumped on a plate. No bread came with it. You have to get bread yourself at the counter, and if you wanted a baguette in France, tough luck. Go somewhere else.

The restaurant and bar service was great. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and knew their food and cocktails. I also liked the hotel atmosphere and amenities. At reception, though, the staff didn’t seem genuine or very approachable. Asking them for anything felt like I was bothering them. And don’t count on Hyatt or American Express membership perks here, the hotel doesn’t honor those benefits.

We were a group of seven in four rooms for the week, and loved this hotel. Its decor has an Architectural Digest feel, the location is great for shopping, and the street to the left is lined with boutiques selling shoes, clothes and housewares. Each evening there’s a DJ playing house music, and the hotel draws a very nice, hip crowd day and night. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the staff were excellent, attentive, professional and helpful. The bar was a great place for a drink before dinner, and Temple & Chapon was fabulous for breakfast and for what became the highlight dinner of our last night.

The octopus and brioche starter was amazing, and the beef fillet came out perfectly cooked as I ordered it, with a really tasty black pepper sauce. The fries were good, though nothing special. I had a good business dinner here. The design is just right, and the staff were super friendly and polite. I enjoyed chatting with them. Definitely worth trying 💯.
