Hotel Flor Rivoli

The location is fantastic and close to the subway, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, with a very comfortable bed. There was an unpleasant smell like foot odor, perhaps from a water leak. The window wouldn’t open for ventilation, the carpet needs replacing, and a wall outlet should be added beside the bed on the left.

We booked six nights, but our room was never serviced during the stay. The bedsheets were never changed, and both the duvet cover and sheets had stains. The towels they gave us were stained too, and one day they didn’t replenish them at all. Shower gel was never refilled. One morning I had to ask at reception, and they gave me a paper sachet. Breakfast was a joke. Instead of a buffet, they seated us and brought a small piece of baguette, a regular croissant, spreads, coffee and a glass of orange juice. That was it. There was no yogurt, fruit or cereal to choose from, and when they serve you at the table, it feels awkward to ask for another croissant. The hotel was a real disappointment. Its location was the only good thing. The fan they provided made noise but didn’t move any air at all.

My only real issue was the heat on the top floor, which had no AC. I knew that before booking, and the provided fan helped make it bearable during the heat wave. There also wasn’t much soundproofing between rooms, so I used a noise machine app on my phone to sleep. Without it I would have heard a lot of coughing and doors opening and closing. The room was small, but I expected that and it was fine for me. Hotel Flor Rivoli is in an outstanding spot, with lots to do a short walk away.

The receptionist gave us such a warm welcome and made check-in easy. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable for a good rest after sightseeing. Hotel Flor Rivoli is right in the heart of Paris, with metro stations, restaurants and iconic sights just a short walk away. A delight to stay at, highly recommended.
