Grand Hotel Malher

We spent 7 days here and were treated so well by the staff. When a pickpocket took our wallet at the Chatelet metro stop, they even went out of their way to help us. No request seemed too difficult. Fatima, Nina, and the other gentleman at reception are a dedicated team and gave us top service. They made us feel welcome and at home. Our room 61 was quite large and comfortable enough. The Grand Hotel Mahler is a lovely family-owned boutique hotel in a great spot in the Marais, surrounded by restaurants and shops. There’s no shortage of things to do nearby. We’ll be back.

Even with snow and bitter cold outside, the room stayed nice and warm. I’d worried an older hotel might be chilly, but the heating worked really well both in my room and throughout the hotel. The location is one of the best, too. I booked the cheapest room on booking and wasn’t expecting much, but it was clean, comfortable, and pleasant to spend time in. The slippers they provided were so cute.

We booked directly with the hotel for five nights in room 55, including a balcony, for my husband’s 55th birthday. Communication with the staff was good, and the family-run feel and wonderful staff were refreshing. It was a little above our usual budget, but perfect as a birthday treat. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and I slept really well. The pictures matched what we got. It had a fridge, which I absolutely loved. There’s a metro station a one-minute walk away, food right outside, lots of shops, and we walked to Notre Dame in 15 minutes. I’d stay again without hesitation. My only suggestion is to let guests fill water bottles at reception instead of just getting a glass, so they can avoid buying plastic bottles.

Nina at the front desk made my first solo trip to Europe feel especially comfortable. She was so kind and attentive, always smiling, and gave me great advice with real warmth. The hotel feels personal and authentically Parisian, and I’ll absolutely return on my next trip ☺️ Le Marais was a perfect base, with cafés, shops, lovely streets, and many Paris highlights just a short walk away. The hotel itself is charming and full of character, with clean, comfortable rooms and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I had such a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel Malher.
