The room service was really good and healthy, and the bar had a cool feel. I spent one night at the Chateau Voltaire. The hotel was beautiful, with cozy rooms and excellent design throughout, and early check-in was available. I'd absolutely stay again. The price benefit was perfect.

The staff took the stress out of traveling. I had no dinner reservation, but after I called, the hotel found me an excellent meal in under an hour and followed up by text. The restaurant in the hotel is incredible. Little treats and daily turndown service just happened, my towels were refreshed before I noticed, and by day three the waiter remembered my coffee order. I had a beautiful corner room with a large bathroom, and there's a hidden bar. The subway is just steps away, and a major metro with several lines is less than 10 minutes away. The hotel is well placed in the 1st arrondissement, so you can walk to everything in Paris. A couple of things didn't work for me. The shower temperature was inconsistent. That may just come with old French buildings, and I found it manageable, though I can see why it might bother someone who paid a lot for the room. The bed and bedding were lovely, but after three nights I realized the mattress was much too soft and gave my wife and me back pain. I'm a very thin guy, and I also don't like luxury brands known for pillow-top beds. This feels like a real Paris experience, the way a non-chain hotel in NYC can feel local. It's beautifully situated and comforting, and far from generic. If that's what you want, book one of the basic comfort brands. I'd highly recommend staying here and letting them take care of you. It won't disappoint.

Our recent stay at Hotel Chateau Voltaire fell well short of five-star service. If you can afford to stay here, I'd suggest looking at other true five-star options for a small increase in budget. We arrived at the front door on Nov 9, 2025, at around 8pm, two of us with three suitcases and two carry-ons. Three staff members were chatting at the front desk, but nobody helped with the bags. We had to open the door and bring everything into the lobby ourselves to check in. Afterward, a staff member showed us the amenities and offered to bring the luggage up later. We weren't comfortable leaving it near the main door, unattended while people came and went and the desk staff weren't watching it. We insisted on taking it up ourselves, though two staff helped in the end. The bathroom wasn't properly clean, and there were mosquitos in the room. Two extra luggage stands we asked for at check-in never arrived before we checked out. We were very disappointed, especially after staying at Bvlgari Hotel Paris a few days earlier, before going to Firenze. We checked out an hour later and moved back to Bvlgari for the rest of our Paris trip. We knew and respected that our booking was non-refundable. We explained our dissatisfaction at the desk, and the staff member said he'd pass it on to the hotel managers. For this trip, we'd booked three different five-star hotels through Expedia back in April 2025, for Paris and Firenze, to try different places. Air France notified us of a flight change in May. Our flight to Paris was cancelled and moved to the second day of our original departure date, so we contacted each hotel to explain and ask for an exception to shift our stay by one day to match the new arrival. All three bookings were non-refundable and non-changeable. The other two hotels approved the request, but Hotel Chateau Voltaire did not, leaving us no choice but to book another night there. After the trip, I tried to review through the link in Expedia's email and found the hotel had cancelled both of my Chateau Voltaire bookings, even though I had paid in full. Apparently, that cancellation voided my eligibility to review as a guest in Expedia's system, so I had to post this on Google instead.

The good things are the location and the beautiful interior. But the hotel's response to our request to shorten our stay by one night and refund that unused night was disappointing. We emailed in advance, politely and in good time, because we planned to travel to another country and needed to leave on January 3rd. We asked only for a one-night adjustment and refund, not a full cancellation, voucher, rescheduling, or any other arrangement. The hotel refused without any flexibility, compromise, or customer-oriented solution. For a five-star property in a major international city, that was unexpected. We often stay at luxury hotels from global brands and had never had this kind of response. The building is attractive, but the lack of customer focus doesn't match the price or service level you'd expect from a 5★ hotel. Update from 3th of January, during our December 30 - January 4 stay: unfortunately, things ended on a very negative note. We checked out without getting a clear or constructive answer to our earlier request to adjust the booking. Communication was slow and unhelpful. On departure day, two male front desk employees were unprofessional, unhelpful, and noticeably unfriendly, which isn't acceptable for a hotel presenting itself as five-star. I had to carry my luggage down from the 3rd floor alone. Nobody offered help. Only after checkout did I have to ask directly for assistance loading it into the car. Until then, staff were just standing behind the desk without taking initiative. It was a very poor service experience, with little customer care or basic hospitality. There are many other five-star hotels in this part of Paris with a much higher level of service. Château Voltaire doesn't meet that standard. We won't return and can't recommend it.

The restaurant felt cozy and connected to the neighborhood, and the interior was complete and lovely, with a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is beautiful and well located. Service was top notch at every level. We'll definitely come back another time. :)
