10/10
We appreciated how quiet the room was, even though it faced the main street, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Breakfast had a good range of options, though there's delicious food all over Paris. A handy detail was the hydration station in the breakfast area, open around the clock so you can refill your own bottle. The location made getting around easy: the metro is right outside, cafés, restaurants, and convenience stores are nearby, and the Opéra House is under a 10-minute walk away. We had a great stay at Holiday Inn Opera.

The three-person rooms are a good size, and the metro is right outside. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. But the windows don't seem to keep sound out: from our room at the back, deliveries in the alley woke us between 5 and 5:30 every morning, sounding as if they were in the bedroom. We changed rooms, but it was just as bad on the sixth floor. Bring earplugs if you stay here.

If you eat vegan or vegetarian, there's a great vegan boulangerie right nearby, Land and Monkey, plus a healthy shop and several restaurants with vegan options. The service was great, the staff friendly, and the hotel is right next to the metro. The main attractions are about a 20-minute walk away.

2/10
The room was at street level on the ground floor, with an unremarkable entrance and no door security. Noise was constant: a loud ventilation-like sound from the back alley, early-morning activity from service teams there, the metro, and footsteps from the room above. The shower was so tiny I couldn't stand in it. I also heard the breakfast area was being renovated. This was one of my worst stays at a branded chain, and there are plenty of better choices in Paris.

We found the location perfect for us, and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was small, but clean, comfortable, and well equipped.
