Hôtel 33 Marbeuf

We were impressed by the location and had great service at check-in and during our stay in the Opera Room with my family. That changed when we found bed bugs crawling across the bed, floor, and walls. Reception denied it was an ongoing problem, but I can't see how so many bugs could have appeared during our three days there if this had never happened before. My kids and I are still terrified and having nightmares about them.

We checked out after the hotel agreed to refund us, but then had to find another place and move our luggage and girls all over again. At night we woke to hundreds of bugs, apparently from three different kinds. We kept calm so our daughters wouldn't come away with a lasting hotel trauma. It was a last-minute booking, so I hadn't had a chance to look closely into the property beforehand. The hotel management first said they'd never encountered this problem. When I mentioned similar reports in reviews, they said they'd dealt with it three years ago and that this was the first recurrence since then. But I found similar comments from just three weeks earlier. From what I could tell, the business was ignoring the issue and leaving guests exposed to it. If you don't want this kind of memory from your trip, choose somewhere else. Update, 19 November: After I posted the review, management contacted me and said they took the problem seriously and renovation work was underway. They also said the review from three weeks earlier was malicious and written by someone who hadn't stayed there. I wanted to share that for fairness, though my opinion hasn't changed.

In our Opera suite, the children felt right at home, which made our five nights at Hotel 33 Marbeuf even better. It's right in the heart of the Champs-Élysées. We'll be back 👋🏻

Every morning, right at 7:15, work on the bedroom wall started up with what sounded like an air hammer breaking out tile or concrete. It was so loud the first time that we thought it might be a fire alarm. Then club music kicked in at 12:30 at night, either in the building or right next door, and kept going until 5:30 a.m. The day staff member was polite but clueless. The night staff member was a miserable, sulking woman, glued to her phone and never speaking or looking up. Housekeeping bags and supplies were left around too.
