Hotel Amélie

The only real positives were the location and the polite front desk staff. Our twin room was meant to have two single beds, but the tiny beds were pushed right together with no space between them, which defeated the point of booking a twin. The hotel has no elevator, something the Booking.com listing conveniently left out, and I had to climb several flights despite having knee pain. The room had no basic bathroom amenities, and cleanliness was clearly below an acceptable level. Nearly everything else, from comfort to facilities, was substandard. It was a very disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The rooms are on the small side, but cozy and very clean. The staff were all kind, and the welcome felt warm. The location is incredible, especially at this low price.

The location is great, and the room size felt pretty typical for a European hotel. It would've been nicer to have AC. Given the size of the building, I understand why there isn't an elevator.

This is a small, affordable place without frills, and the rooms are tiny as you'd expect. Large suitcases are a bit of a challenge. Charles made check-in fun and was good company. You have to hand in your keys whenever you go out, which is a slightly odd setup, but not a big deal. All in all, a great little hotel with lovely staff.
