Hotel Cambon

The rooms are tiny, as is usual in central Paris, but they're very well equipped. The hotel is in a really great location. Breakfast is a bit simple, though everything in the selection tastes good.

The patio had no view, but we didn't mind because it felt very private. Our room had its own entrance onto the patio and felt more like an apartment, with art on the walls, old books on shelves, and a clear split between the sitting and sleeping areas. The couch was large and comfortable, and there was a nice desk for a laptop. We were celebrating our anniversary on our first trip to Paris, and the handwritten note, bottle of champagne, and snacks waiting at arrival were lovely. We also got fresh towels within a few minutes when we asked. The one letdown was the Japanese-style washlet in the bathroom. We'd confirmed by email that it would be there, but it wasn't. When we asked, the staff didn't seem to understand. Breakfast was worth paying for every morning, and the staff were friendly. We ordered dinner twice from the bar across the street. The food was good, though some items may not be available if you order late. Our first attempt at the croquet Mousier was a miss, but the second time was good. We had it for lunch with salad and fries. The location is great, close to the Turrlies park, the louvre, Metro #1, and lots of shops and places to eat. There's a Monoprix nearby for affordable drinks and snacks in the room. Very nice stay. I'd recommend it and may come back.

The rooms can get warm on hot days because the A/C is barely enough, and it often switches itself off after running for a while. You have to find the physical switch on the unit to turn it back on. Other guests said their rooms were warm too, and the hotel gave us a stand-up fan. Breakfast is available for an extra charge. The location was great, the staff were friendly, and our room was clean.

The restaurant across the street is great, and everyone at the hotel is friendly and helpful. I've stayed here many times because it's so centrally located and easy to get around on foot. The recent renovation is fantastic. The rooms are quite small, but very comfortable and in a great area. This was my first stay since the renovation, and it was exceptional.
