Hôtel De Bordeaux

The reception staff were kind and pleasant, but the room was in awful shape. It smelled strongly of mold and damp, and sitting in there was almost impossible. The bathroom was even dirtier, with mold on the ceiling and tiles. We aired the room before going out, but the horrible smell stayed. The bed linen wasn’t in good condition either and had a sharp, unpleasant odor. The radiators barely worked, so the room was terribly cold. I’d think very carefully before booking, and maybe look for somewhere better.

The location’s great, with restaurants and bars right outside or within a ten-minute walk, and public transit close by. The staff are friendly and will sort things out if something isn’t right, making sure you’re comfortable.

The hotel is pretty basic, but the staff are lovely. We could easily walk or take a bus to all the places we wanted to visit, so the location worked really well for us.

This isn’t a luxury hotel, but it’s good value for the price. Its handy location connects you to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'est, with direct access to CDG airport and the city sights respectively. The bed was a decent size, and there was a small fridge, coffee maker with coffee and tea, and a kettle. Breakfast came with the stay and was simple: bread, a croissant, juice, tea, and coffee. No eggs, unfortunately. The staff were excellent, friendly, and went out of their way to help. Seems best suited to solo travelers looking for a place to sleep after a day in Paris.
