Hotel De Jobo

Reception gave us a map and recommendations for dinner and shopping, and was a wealth of knowledge even though we were only there for one evening. Seeing our large suitcases, he upgraded our room and put us on the ground floor so we wouldn’t have to haul them up and down by elevator. He also booked a cab to the airport for the next morning, saying it would be faster and more reliable than an Uber. The room was right out of my maximalist dreams, so fun. I didn’t get a photo of the bathroom, but it was huge, and the shower was great, which can be hit or miss in Europe. The location is hard to beat, close to wonderful dining, shopping and some sights, with easy access to the rest of the city. Our room faced the fire station next door, but it was fairly quiet and we slept well. The bar isn’t staffed on Monday nights, so you can only order one of their speciality batched cocktails or wine or beer. Still, it was a nice end to the evening and our 10-day trip. I’d definitely return.

My room was beautiful, elegant and practical, with all the amenities we needed and thoughtful decor that showed real attention to what guests might want. The service was just as good. The kindness and care made me feel special, and whenever something came up, it was handled quickly and precisely, with real professionalism. You’re close to the heart of everything, with boulangeries, shops and restaurants a train ride or walk away. I highly recommend this place. Top notch!

The people working here take such good care of you. The boutique hotel is gorgeous, right in the heart of Marais, with interior design, comfort and cleanliness that are all 5 star plus. We’ll definitely be back!

Our cab took 30 minutes to arrive on the last night, when it was time to head to the airport and go home. Claire kindly called for it and apologized, even though the delay wasn’t her fault. She poured us champagne and chatted with us in the lovely courtyard while we waited. It was a magical way to stretch out the holiday, and we’re still grateful for her kindness and hospitality. When the cab finally came, we were genuinely disappointed to leave Claire, the courtyard and the champagne. Claire made our trip memorable, and the whole team at Hotel de JoBo helped make this one of our best hotel experiences ever. It’s a super cool boutique hotel in a wonderful location. Claire has friends in Canada now, and we’re already planning to stay again!
