Hôtel de la Paix

We paid for an extra night so our room would be ready when we arrived late, and the hotel had agreed to our overnight check-in. But the night staff member was rude when we got there at 5 a.m. He was actually asleep, then kept telling us our room had been taken and that we’d have to wait until noon to check in. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. There was no light in the toilet and no hot water in the showers. The walls were paper thin, and with our room facing the main avenue, we barely slept. The location is good, but we didn’t feel the area was safe, with a few pickpockets around, so we had to return before sunset to avoid problems.
