Hôtel de la Terrasse

The room was a typical small European one, and the heater worked. Reception was prompt and friendly, and we felt safe. They service the room whether you like it or not, and there were no face towels. The bathroom felt like one on an economy flight. Water pressure was so-so, and the hot water lasted only a minute before becoming tolerably lukewarm. It met our needs, with the metro just steps away and McDs close for late-night snacks. There are other places to eat nearby too. I’d come back to Paris and stay here again.

The hotel is very close to PORTE DE CLIGNANCOURT metro station, the last stop on that line, and it offers great value. I hadn’t realized until I looked into it after arriving that the hotel is in what I’d call “the hood,” like Compton in Los Angeles, South Bronx, Brownsville, or East Harlem in NYC, or Chicago’s south side. There’s a LIDL nearby, and it was the first time I’d seen LIDL cashiers behind a glass barrier. Still, I never felt unsafe. If you’re street-smart and stay aware of your surroundings, the location shouldn’t be an issue.

The room was clean, the staff were helpful, and it’s close to places where you can get good Turkish food and McDonalds.

The hotel was a good fit for my two-night stay. It’s small and cheap, but my room was clean, the internet was fast, and the shower had hot water. I’d recommend it for solo travelers or couples, not families. The area is so-so and a bit sketchy, but the hotel itself felt safe. The walls are thin, so it helps when everyone respects their neighbors. A rude guy in the next room talked on his phone at 5AM during my stay, but that was down to his poor manners, not the hotel. I’d definitely stay here again if I needed to.
