Hotel Des Mines

This was my first trip to Paris, and now I can't wait to go back. I really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, and everything was easy to reach, from restaurants to buses and trains. I had a wonderful stay, even if it took me ages to write this review. Everyone, from the front desk to room service, was such a pleasure to be around.

There are markets and a pharmacy on the block, with Luxembourg Gardens right across the street. The bus stop is just outside, and the hotel is on the RER B line. If your room faces the street, you may hear the train going by underground, even from the fourth floor. For my first time in Paris, I couldn't have asked for a better place. The location was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Everyone was friendly.

The location is ideal, close to the gardens and an RER line, and away from the busiest parts of Paris. The staff were very kind and helpful, and they held our bags while we walked around waiting for the room. This is a small boutique hotel with limited staff, so our room wasn't ready until about an hour after check-in time. The rooms and elevator are small, but that's Paris. For the price, it was well worth it, and everything was clean. I'd stay again.

Room 309 was nice and quiet, though being near Rue St. Michel meant the RER B noise was a little annoying. We had no hot water late on October 26, but the manager fixed it right away. The clerk also directed us to their nearby sister hotel, Observatory hotel, where we could shower. I stayed here October 26-28 and November 3-6, 2025, in rooms 309 and 302, respectively. In general, it's a good hotel. Merci.
