Ferney République Hotel

The staff are courteous and friendly, and I'm glad I came. My host says renovations are coming. They're gracious hosts, and I believe them, so for the price and the area, four stars it is. The location's nice for seeing a more authentic side of Paris, with transport, shops, and cafés close by. There are also occasional homeless people and graffiti. I'm from NY, and this feels real, not like a picture. I've been taking Ubers everywhere, but here I find myself walking around the city. ❤️ There's a lot of potential, though it could use a responsible hotelier's attention. Some small details need work, like the dingy, overwashed bathroom foot towel that can't get clean anymore, and the complete lack of bathroom privacy.

The main downside was how noisy the hotel was. You could hear basically everything, everywhere. Still, all the staff gave us lovely service, always smiling and ready to help, and our room was clean. We spent four nights here over New Year's in a room for three. The hotel is a little outdated and rough around the edges, but we had a great stay. For the price and location, you can't expect a five-star hotel. Would we come back? Absolutely! 💜

Paris was wonderful, but staying here was really frustrating. The beds were uncomfortable, and the sheets on arrival were yellow and had someone else's lipstick on them. The pillows felt like stuffed salami. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and they didn't even leave spare toilet paper. I understand the price is cheap, but I still expected the basic standards of cleanliness.

The only issues were that our triple room had just one charging plug, and there was no hot water for a shower on the second day of our two-night stay. Oh, and it was loud because the room faced the street. Apart from that, everything was fine.
