Hôtel Hélios Opéra

Breakfast was tasty and got my day off to a great start, and the bed was so comfortable I slept really well. The hotel feels chic, and the balcony view gave me that classic French experience. The only hiccup was no hot water overnight. I’m guessing it was an isolated issue, and there wasn’t anyone available to fix it at the time. I still had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

I had a wonderful time with the reception staff, who were so friendly and always ready to help. From the first day, everything felt great. The rooms were clean and roomy, and the location made it easy to walk everywhere. I’d definitely come back.

This felt nothing like a four-star hotel. The website’s boutique luxury description and pretty photos gave me a very different impression, but in reality I’d rate it two stars. The rooms are tiny, with dated decor, worn carpets, poor lighting, and a tired bathroom. The place even felt seedy, and the service was poor. There was no iron, which is a real problem for a business traveler. The air conditioning was switched off centrally, with no way to adjust it, and there was no room phone, so reaching reception meant going downstairs. Breakfast was just okay, with very few choices. I’ve stayed at many four-star hotels in this area over the years for work, and this was easily the worst. Avoid it at all costs.

There are lots of restaurants and shops close by, and getting around from the hotel is easy. The staff were kind and glad to help. My room was cozy, clean, and had everything I needed.
