Hotel Metropolitain

I paid 115 euros for room 102. It was neat and tidy, and the bathroom was clean, but the view was of the neighboring building’s tin roof. The entrance is a corridor leading to a spiral staircase, with reception on the first floor. The TV was tiny and mounted so high it was awkward to watch; it only had French channels, without subtitles or other options. Other Paris hotels I’ve visited usually had English and German subtitles. Part of the shower glass enclosure was broken and replaced with a curtain, and the water pressure was annoyingly weak. There was a drinks tray and heater, plus a fridge, but the coffee sachets were empty. Maybe you can find a better room, good luck with that.

The hotel felt run-down, and the water went cold every day while I was in the bath. When I asked an employee about it, they said the owner was the problem. Breakfast was poor, and there was no water to replenish it. It was awful, the worst hotel in Paris. Don’t stay here.

The rooms are tidy and clean, and the hotel is right in the heart of Paris, surrounded by lively restaurants and bars. Finding the entrance is difficult, and free parking is very hard to find.

We enjoyed staying here. The staff were very good, and the cleaning was excellent. I recommend it as a budget hotel.
