We left right away and paid for another hotel ourselves, even though we'd already paid for several nights. The room was too dirty and poorly maintained for us to stay comfortably. The location is good, but that didn't make up for not being able to sleep in a clean, cared-for space. Based on what happened, I wouldn't recommend booking here. The room was nothing like the online photos. It was filthy, with several holes in the walls, bathroom tiles broken and falling off, and other maintenance problems. We understand what to expect from an older or small European room. That wasn't the issue. The front desk employee was unpleasant and sometimes outright rude. When we raised our concerns, she asked us to wait while she checked on options. About half an hour later, she called to say other rooms were available but they wouldn't move us because they were all the same. She dismissed our concerns with “it’s Europe,” which had nothing to do with what we reported.

Be careful booking this hotel. I prepaid the full amount for my stay, approximately 600 euros, then asked to move my dates exactly one month later. I had checked that rooms were available, but the hotel refused several requests to apply the money they'd received as credit toward a future stay. In the end, I lost all the money. I was disappointed by how indifferent the hotel seemed to its guests and how much it seemed to love their money.

The area was great, with cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets nearby, and the hotel was only a few meters from Notre Dame cathedral, Pantheon, Sorbonne university, and a metro station. Our room was very good, with a small balcony looking onto a side street leading to Pantheon. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and clean, and the bathroom was tidy and very clean. Breakfast was very good too, with fresh croissants and bread plus a nice buffet of cheeses, ham, jam, Nutella, and more. The reception, breakfast room, and cleaning staff were all friendly, helpful, and caring. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Quartier Latin. I highly recommend it!

The staff we spoke to were very friendly. My room was basic, but the bed was comfortable and I slept well. It's a convenient base for visiting the city's main attractions, and perfectly adequate for a few days. I didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food.

The lobby was welcoming and easy on the eyes, with lots of bookshelves. My only suggestion is to put a power strip with adapters on the corner table so guests can get some work done quickly. This superb boutique hotel is family run by a father and daughter. It's exceptionally well placed for Mutualité, where I was attending an event, and Notre-Dame, with bike paths and public transport offering convenient routes to all the attractions. Breakfast was a pleasure, and it's worth trying their family run restaurant, Italian restaurant Otiamo, not too far away. Room 401 was quiet and spacious, with a handy bathroom stocked with good quality soap, shampoo, and body lotion.
