Hotel Recamier

The staff were gracious and helpful with all our questions, and Cecilia especially went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. Our rooms were spacious for Paris and well appointed, with lots of amenities, including an Eiffel Tower view. We booked a four-day girlfriends trip to Hotel Recamier on the recommendation of a friend and travel guide, and we’re so glad we did. It’s a small boutique hotel in the heart of St. Germain, across from Saint Sulpice. The Louvre, Notre Dame, and lots of excellent shopping and restaurants were within about a 1 mile radius. The area was very walkable day or night. I’d definitely come back on another Paris trip.

We’ve stayed at Hotel Récamier twice in the last eight months, and both visits were a treat. The beds are comfortable, the service is lovely, and the polite, kind staff have wonderful recommendations. Their afternoon tea service is a lovely way to spend the afternoon. Thank you for another exceptional stay!

I was disappointed there was no turn down service, especially as a tired traveler. After a long bath, I found no hairdryer in the room, and the small packets of q-tips and similar items had been opened by a previous guest. That was a real turn off, and made me wonder what else might have been used. Those items should have been checked and replaced. The light switch was hard to find, and the thermostat didn’t work properly, though opening a window to the courtyard helped. I booked a room with a bath, not just a bathroom, and was given a room with a shower. The bellman said the hotel was full and couldn’t change it. I went to reception myself and repeated the request, and they did have a room with a bath after all, right next door. The move was quick, and since I was already running late, I left within minutes. When I returned hours later, the elevator was out for the evening. I was on the 1st floor, so the stairs were no trouble for me, though they could be difficult for some guests. I spent one night and already knew where I wanted to get breakfast, so I checked out quickly. I’ve stayed in many Paris hotels, including Recamier years ago before it was remodeled. I wouldn’t return now. I’m happier several blocks up.

The location couldn’t be better, close to restaurants and shops but still very quiet. Everyone was super nice. We received a bottle of champagne and macaroons as a gift, and the breakfast was great. They also serve complimentary tea in the afternoon. Perfect little hotel, and I’d definitely come back.
