Hôtel Richard

I stayed four days, and found the hotel manageable and fine. Since we arrived early, I liked being able to check in early for half the price of a night's stay. The reception team were friendly and spoke English, so communication was easy. The building is very old. Wallpaper was peeling, there was a lot of dust, and the narrow, brittle stairs made carrying luggage up five floors quite a challenge. That's common with old buildings, but I wanted to mention it. Our room was spacious and had a private bathroom. It smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals, but the blankets smelled as if they hadn't been washed, which was a downside. The heater worked perfectly and the bathroom was okay, though the toilet seat paint was coming off and dust had collected from the walls. Showering was awkward because there was nowhere to secure the shower head. The place was clean overall. I'd recommend it for stays under five days; for a longer visit, I'd look for somewhere cozier.

Simple but nice, and clean. The staff were kind. My neighbors were really noisy, but when I told the receptionist, he went straight to their room and asked them to quiet down. I'd stay here again.

The location was good, and communication with the staff was easy. The big problem for me was the bedding: it didn't seem washed, so in temperatures of 5°C to 0°C we had to sleep in winter clothes with just a sheet over us. The staircase was also incredibly narrow and old, making it very difficult to take luggage upstairs.

The staff were nice, but the rest was rough. The toilet was so cramped that I couldn't sit down and close the door because there wasn't enough room for my legs. The shower had no curtain, and the walls were really dirty.
