Hôtel Royal Phare

We could see the Eiffel Tower from the room, and the location was handy, with a metro stop and grocery store just steps away. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice.

We loved our first Paris trip here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and having a Nespresso machine was a nice touch. We also had a great view of the Eiffel Tower and really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Getting around was easy, with things to walk to and a metro station nearby. The service was awesome, especially the very nice concierge. After checkout, they let us leave our luggage until we met our train ride later that day. The lift is small, but the hotel is lovely, and we'd stay again.

The room was acceptable, but it wasn't the luxurious or romantic stay you might expect from a hotel in such a prime spot. The location itself is excellent, close to many of Paris's major landmarks. Getting in was frustrating. I stood outside ringing the bell for a long time with no answer, then had to call before anyone opened the door. Inside, the space felt cramped, and reception sits up a long flight of stairs, which is awkward with luggage. The elevator is extremely tiny, about 50 cm by 1 m, barely enough for one person with bags. Checkout was another sore point. I asked to leave at 1:00 pm, but staff refused and said even being five minutes past the 12:00 pm checkout would mean a charge. Comfort and service could be much better.

We were in Paris for the first time and stayed four nights. The rooms are on the small side, but they suited a couple on a getaway. Ours was very clean and recently renovated, and the view was lovely. What stood out most was the friendly service and how convenient everything was. The Eiffel Tower is a few blocks away, the metro is right outside, and there's a grocery store next door. The front desk gentlemen were kind, as were the ladies who cleaned. We'd definitely stay here again on our next Paris trip.
