Hôtel Saphir Grenelle

Our room was small and not very clean, and there are other hotels in the area with much better hospitality. At checkout, a staff member was so rude he nearly threw our bags out. They wouldn't let us leave our luggage in storage after checkout, and when we complained, management didn't care. It feels like money is all that matters. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The service desk gentlemen were helpful, and the hotel was clean and well presented. The shower recess felt outdated, though. I only stayed one night, and the location was the main draw: the Siene River and Eiffel Tower are about a 10-minute walk away, and the Metro is very close. Shops and restaurants are nearby too. I'd recommend it for the location and cleanliness.

The location is the only real plus for me. The room and shower cubicle were tiny, with little storage or space to move around, and as a man I found it hard to shower without banging into the walls. The lift is so small that although it says three people, realistically only two fit. We also heard the Metro and trains regularly, along with banging doors. We got two towels for the first day, then were told they'd run out for the next four days. We had to make do with one bath towel and two small hand towels, despite paying £700/800€. We mentioned it to staff one evening and they laughed, first joking that the maid forgot, then saying she must have forgotten. Four days is quite a memory lapse. The fridge was disgusting, and the hair dryer had a broken pipe. There's a homeless man sitting right outside the front door. He greeted us every morning and didn't bother us, but it's not great that the hotel hasn't asked him to move along. I won't be back. I'm happy to pay a bit more for a better hotel.

Our room faced the street but was quiet from outside noise. We could hear loud guests next door, though, and the cups could've been cleaner. There was no shampoo in our first room. The rooms were clean and had no bugs, but no mini fridge either. Staff kept our food downstairs and held our bags after checkout, and they were friendly. The location was excellent, with the subway two minutes away and restaurants, groceries, a pharmacy and bakery nearby. It was a comfortable stay.
