The staff were very nice, and the location was good. The neighborhood was okay, with buses and the metro about a seven-minute walk away. But the room looked sad and extremely cheap, with old, dusty furniture, even though I understood it would be tiny for the low price. I didn't want to spend any extra time in there. I assume I got the worst room, since I couldn't find its photos on Booking or Google. The bathroom made that seem plausible: you can't sit on the toilet without hitting your head on the wall. The shower head was physically deteriorating, with bits of plastic breaking off, and had black limescale all over it. There was nowhere to put my phone beside one side of the bed, so my things had to go on the old, dusty carpet. Noise carries everywhere, and I honestly don't know how anyone sleeps without earplugs. Seeing that they hadn't even spent five euros to replace the shower head prompted me to write this review.

The rooms were clean, cozy, and felt safe. Breakfast is available, and you can have tea or coffee at any time of day. More than anything, the warm welcome from the staff made my stay special. A very big thank you to the hotel director, Elodie, for her hospitality. I've never had such a heartfelt welcome anywhere else in the world. My time here made my Paris trip even more memorable. Thank you, Hotel Verlaine, for such a lovely stay. Wishing you continued success and many happy guests! 🌷

For my first stay in Paris, this was a really cute, budget-friendly hotel in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. It's close to metro and bus stations. Elodie was a fantastic host, so warm and kind in her hospitality. I loved staying here and will definitely come again 🤍

Elodie, the owner, made the stay feel special from the start. She welcomed us so warmly and gave us all kinds of helpful advice. We've never had such a genuine, heartfelt welcome. The rooms are simple and spotlessly clean, breakfast is delicious, and the location is perfect, close to several metro stops. We had a wonderful time at the hotel. Thanks for everything, Elodie and Opium!! Can't wait to see you again :)

For the price, the value is honest and hard to beat. It's clearly not a luxury hotel, but the personal touch and super-friendly, helpful service make it a great deal. Elodie helped me out and made my last night and day in Paris easy and carefree. Thank you, I'll be back!
