The owner is very kind and speaks English well, and there’s hot water around the clock. The location is handy, with two metro stations within a five-minute walk, making it easy to get around Paris. The rooms are very small and you can hear through the walls, but that didn’t matter to us since we only needed somewhere to sleep and keep our bags safe.

The owner was super friendly and helpful, check-in was easy, and the location is great, just steps from Gare de L'Est. The room was clean, but extremely dated and not comfortable. Mine smelled strongly of stale smoke and sewage. It was also quite loud, and there’s no elevator. Fine for one night if needed, but next time I’d rather spend 20€ more for somewhere nicer.

I’ve seen some harsh reviews of this place and don’t think they’re deserved. For 50 euros a night, it’s what it is: somewhere to flop. It’s not charming, but it’s clean and does the job. The rooms have their own bathrooms and basic beds, with a window looking onto a long, narrow courtyard between the buildings. We used a room as extra sleeping space for guests, since our apartment is nearby, and it worked great. Expect to see plenty of young Europeans, North Africans, kids, and others. The room is secure.

The location is a real plus: less than a three-minute walk to Gard de l'Est and around eleven minutes to Gard du nord. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel badly needs renovation and I didn’t feel I got value for the money. The room was too small, and I could barely fit in the shower. There was no refrigerator, and the TV was the smallest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. There were no meals provided, so I had to buy food at nearby restaurants and supermarkets. The heater was off, and I had to sleep in my thick coat all night.
