Hyatt Paris Madeleine

Breakfast each morning was satisfying, and the restaurant staff were always kind and accommodating. One morning they handed out freshly baked croissants, which were delicious. The hotel is very dog-friendly and sits in a nice, quiet neighborhood where it was easy to walk around. We felt very welcome last fall and would happily come back. We booked two rooms for several nights, and the manager kindly moved one into a suite because we were Globalists. I can't remember her name, but she was professional and went out of her way to make sure guests felt looked after. Having a suite was especially nice since the standard rooms are on the small side.

We picked this hotel mainly for safety and transport. It's farther from the Opera district, which made it quieter and felt safer. At check-in they offered us a glass of champagne right away. The minibar was free on arrival day, but nothing in it appealed to us. Once we realized it was a sensor fridge, we left it alone because we were still worried about being charged unexpectedly. The room was very comfortable and spotless. Housekeeping deserves a special thank you: after long days sightseeing, it was a real comfort to return to a perfectly made room. The coffee lounge downstairs gives each guest one free drink, with choices including beer, soda, and sparkling wine, but not champagne. It's strictly one drink per person, so be mindful when ordering. I'm not a top-tier member, so breakfast cost extra. Booking ahead for all days was €32 per person per day, compared with €40 if paid there. Breakfast was quite good, with options like omelets and French toast. The coffee and tea looked beautiful but didn't taste great, and staff often got orders wrong. Service from the bar and restaurant staff was inconsistent. The lady at the bar seemed visibly bothered when we didn't order another drink. A more patient, polite explanation would've felt more welcoming.

We had a lovely family stay over Valentine's weekend. After an overnight flight from the US, we were jet-lagged and cranky, and the staff did all they could to get us into our Madeleine suite quickly. The two Asian ladies at reception especially stood out, so professional and kind. Service was warm and quick, and the food was excellent. We ordered room service for breakfast and dinner and were really impressed. Everyone was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating with our two-year-old. The location worked well for major sights and shopping. We also had a lovely walk up to Montmartre and took a Citroen car tour around the sights. We'd stay here again on a return to Paris.

Our room was quite large compared with standard Paris hotels, and the location was perfect. The breakfast was nice too. But over our seven-night stay, freezing winter air came in through a faulty window. We reported it at least four times, and no fix or alternative room was offered. We only got an electric heater on the seventh night. By the last night I was sick with a 40 degrees fever. On our last day, when we asked for a taxi, the response was, “with the snow youll never get one”. At the price of a 4/5-star hotel, I expect better service. Very disappointed.
