Ibis Paris Gare Montparnasse Catalogne

This is my new default for work trips in south Paris, especially with Montparnasse just five minutes away and the rooms staying surprisingly quiet. The soundproofing is great, so it works well for a quick leisure trip too. It’s a freshly renovated Ibis with clean, nicely finished rooms, useful coworking and lounge areas, a solid breakfast, and a genuinely friendly crew from reception through housekeeping. For a special occasion I’d choose a boutique place, but for a smart, good value stay, it covers everything I need. I’ll be back.

A good base for seeing Paris, and very affordable. The place was clean and tidy, and the service was friendly. The plugs in the room weren’t in the most convenient spots, but it wasn’t a big deal. I’d recommend it.

I asked the room service staff to be careful while cleaning my room, but when I came back it hadn’t been cleaned. I brought it up with the hotel staff, and the cleaner I’d spoken to came over and was rude to me. The service was bad and they treated me very disrespectfully. I’d never stay at this ibis again.

We stayed in July 2025, and the room and location were nice. The problem was being charged twice, once in advance and again at the front desk. They said they’d refund the money, but more than three months later, after emails back and forth, it still hasn’t happened. I’ve sent the information they asked for each time, usually within a day, only for them to request something else. Their replies take a week or longer, and sometimes they don’t reply at all. My last email was sent October 17. As of November 5, I’d had no answer and no refund.
