The service was otherwise fair for the fare, and some staff members were pleasant. But I encountered one of the most aggressive receptionists I’ve ever dealt with. After landing at CGD, we came to leave our bags. A very pleasant receptionist said we could check in at noon if a room was available. Later, when friends arrived from Lyon and we met them at the hotel around 12:30 to ask whether the second room was ready, a different woman became aggressive. She offered no explanation and only said, “after 14:00.” At one point, I felt she was about to kick us out. That attitude isn’t acceptable in hospitality.

The comfortable beds and great location were the bright spots, but I can’t recommend this hotel. The place is showing its age: both the room and shared areas felt worn, and the dim lighting in the room and bathroom made everything feel even more dated. The bathroom was the biggest issue. It had noticeable mold, very weak water pressure, and wasn’t as clean as it should have been. Breakfast was included, but needed fresher food and more variety. With some renovation and better attention to cleanliness, it could be a much nicer place to stay. Caution!

My daughter and I stayed here in Paris, and I’d tell other people to choose a different hotel. The egg machine and toaster didn’t work, so you had to boil your own eggs. The towels were small, and I had to insist on getting larger ones. The coffee wasn’t great either. Customer service was crap, they couldn’t give a shit. We’re the customers spending our hard-earned money. Do better!!!

The staff were always pleasant, and we could leave our luggage in storage both before our room was ready and when we were leaving. The hotel is a five-minute walk from a major train station, with connections to lots of places, and there are many eateries nearby, including OBU, Blaze, McDonald's, KFC, Bullion, and Burger King. It’s right by a train station and can be noisy, but we were so tired from walking around that we slept soundly. If you don’t plan to spend much time in the hotel, it could be a good fit. At first the small room felt depressing, and the heating didn’t work. For the price, though, I came to think the hotel was good value. The beds were soft and adequate, and the shower gave a steady, hot flow without temperature changes. Continental breakfast was decent, with croissants, cold meats, cheeses, juices, three coffee machines, several teas, cereals, yoghurt, nuts, and eggs. Many guests didn’t realize how to use the egg machine: put the uncooked egg in a metal basket and gently lower it into the hot water. It takes about three minutes for a very soft egg, six for a semi-solid one, and nine for a hard-boiled one. You need to watch your egg and take it out when it’s ready. If you leave it in the water hoping to collect it later, someone else may take it, thinking it’s up for grabs. That happened to my eggs twice. The lifts are fast. You need to tap your keycard on the black control, then press your floor. There’s a ramp into the hotel on the ground floor and an accessible toilet on the first floor.
