The guinea fowl was the highlight, tender meat with a phenomenal sauce. Some of the other courses didn’t land as well: the tacos came under a mountain of cilantro that overwhelmed them, and the chestnut tortellini had an odd-textured wrapper that didn’t work with the broth. The six-course New Year’s Eve menu cost £150 and mixed cuisines like Italian and Mexican. It was an unforgettable meal, and parts of it were quite nice, but at that price I don’t think it was worth it.

The food was inventive, delicious, and gourmet. I had the meat with a magnificent sauce, and the other dishes looked and tasted great too. The setting is beautiful and the staff were lovely. I also really enjoyed the Negroni, made with bitter vermouth and one big rock. After exploring the generous wine list, we took the sommelier’s help and chose a creamy Chardonnay from Bourgogne, Fontaine-Gagnard, 2023. A very nice Paris spot.

Le Saint Sebastien is somewhere I look forward to visiting whenever we’re back in France. I love the subtle, romantic decor and the excellent wine list, chosen from some of the finest producers. The ingredients are fresh and the cooking is lovely, with touches from elsewhere that give the dishes a twist.

One of my best Paris experiences so far. The food and service were amazing, and the wine list is top notch, with plenty of excellent choices by the glass. A must for any wine lover!
