Hôtel Joyce - Astotel

For a budget stay, this hotel was clean, simple, and more comfortable than I expected. The beds were cozy enough to get a good night’s sleep, which matters a lot when you’re travelling on a budget. The receptionist was especially warm. She gave us directions to a nearby crêperie, and it turned out to be a great tip. That kind of small gesture made the place feel more personal. If you just need somewhere comfortable to rest without spending too much, I’d recommend it. It does the budget basics well.

Room 601 was a delightfully odd shape, with unusual angles and very high ceilings, yet somehow it all worked perfectly. It was comfortable, and the hotel’s location makes it easy to walk to Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, and the Opéra. The staff were wonderful, too. Breakfast is a bargain for the price, so I’d pay the small extra fee. There are also drinks and snacks available from 2pm until well after midnight. The only thing that would keep me from returning is the no-pets policy.

The room was too hot on our first night of a nine-night stay, a problem we often run into since we sleep cool. Bright lights outside made opening the heavy curtains for fresh air tricky, even though the window does open. When I mentioned the heat, the woman at the desk turned it off and took away the heavy comforter. We used the double sheet comforter cover as a blanket instead. They understood how much an overheated room can affect sleep and took practical steps to fix it. I’d highly recommend Hotel Joyce. The staff were great, the room was perfectly fine, and the location was excellent. We also came to love the open snack setup. It wasn’t what attracted us, but being able to grab a tangerine or hot chocolate was convenient and friendly.

After busy days exploring Paris, I really appreciated the hotel’s quiet, relaxing feel. The location was handy for attractions, cafés, and public transport, and the rooms were cozy, beautifully decorated, and spotless. The staff were warm and happy to help with directions or suggestions. Special thanks to Emma, Mr. Germain, Montu and B, and Guy. They were all amazing. I had a wonderful stay at the Joyce Hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
