Hôtel Korner Opéra

We were only stopping by to leave our bags, but the gentleman at reception kindly offered us an early check-in. Fresh croissants were set out there for guests, and they happily brought us the extra pillows we asked for. Those thoughtful touches made us feel welcome, and we really appreciated how hospitable and kind the service was.

Just right for one person needing a place to sleep and rest. The location was perfect, and the service was really helpful.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this stay was deeply disappointing. The location was excellent, yet the hotel itself fell well short of what I expected. The room was up a long, narrow staircase, which I didn't mind. What shocked me was the door: it had no proper handle and was being held shut by a metal cup. There was also a random fan in the entryway. Inside, the sheets and towels had visible mold stains, and mold covered the shower tiles and other bathroom areas. That lack of cleanliness and maintenance alarmed me because mold is a serious health concern. (See pictures below.) I told the staff right away and politely asked for fresh sheets and towels and a thorough bathroom cleaning. I was told there were no spare sheets or towels and no immediate fix for the mold. The towels were changed the next day, but the bathroom mold was left as it was. At check-in, the young staff member who helped us and showed us to the room seemed to be in the middle of a Zoom class, which made the welcome feel unprofessional. The service overall felt dismissive, and my concerns weren't properly dealt with. Basic hospitality standards weren't met. I would strongly advise against staying here.

The bed was very comfortable, and it was great to have working A/C. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location worked perfectly for us. The room was as small as you'd expect in Paris, though the shower room door wouldn't open all the way. If you're a bigger person, moving around in there will be a struggle.
