1.75 Paris La Source

We had a lovely short visit and will definitely come back. La Source is in a nice area, and you can get around quickly on foot or by metro. The flat was clean, comfortable, and a great find for the price. We could have wine, make breakfast, and use the kitchen, which was always stocked. Charlotte was wonderful and made everything possible. She sorted out any issue, and it was easy to reach her on WhatsApp.

The staff were lovely, and the apartment was excellent. We had all three rooms to ourselves, which worked really well.

The room was spacious and clean, and the food was okay, but the rest of this stay felt nowhere near worth 450€ a night. At that price I expected proper five-star service. The place was hard to find, and no one was there when I arrived at 10pm. I even got a message saying I had checked in while I was still on the train. In the bedroom there wasn't a welcome card, a note on the TV, anything to eat, or a minibar. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7:30am, but at 7:50am there was nobody there and nothing ready. Someone showed up and started preparing it while I waited, which felt awkward. The breakfast itself was fine, but nowhere near five-star. Later, guests from another room who'd left their keys in their bedroom woke me at 1am so they could get the emergency number and call someone to let them in. There should be a phone in the small living room so guests can contact the owner or someone directly. You can hear noise from the other rooms, and with the tiny living room it feels crowded. It's basically a regular Paris flat turned into a hotel. If it had cost 200€ a night and been rated three stars, I would've been perfectly satisfied. At 450€ and five stars, it just doesn't deliver.

I arrived with my luggage and found nobody there, no reception, bell, or staff, and none of the phone numbers worked. I had booked through Booking.com and received several confirmations by WhatsApp and email, with links for the check-in steps, so everything had seemed organized until then. No one answered my calls or messages, even later. I ended up crying on the street and finding another hotel that same day. It ruined my trip and left me feeling traumatized throughout my stay. The place felt like a ghost site, unsafe, unprofessional, and completely unreliable. I paid through Booking.com and got nothing in return. They also kept sending random WhatsApp links outside Booking.com asking me to choose a room and pay an extra €10 or €20 for an upgrade. I don't even believe the links were legitimate. Why ask for my card details again on WhatsApp for a room that doesn't exist? It felt completely unsafe and unprofessional. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, and hope others don't make the same mistake.
