Hotel Le Bristol Paris

Breakfast is worth thinking twice about. The room is grand, but the food was blooming terrible and bland. The scrambled eggs came piled on a plate with nothing else. When we raised the problem, there wasn’t much effort to fix it. For two, expect to pay well over 100 euros, and any reasonable Paris café does better. We also had several things in the room not working, poor service, and trouble with a taxi the hotel was supposed to book. Staff were polite and smiling, but didn’t really try to put things right. Even management gave a bit of a shrug. We wanted to hear, “we’re going to fix this,” and didn’t. Le Bristol is undeniably luxurious, with a great lobby, plenty of staff, and lovely rooms. The location depends on what you want: it’s ideal for high-end shops and very rich people, with shop staff who may only be interested if you’re enormously wealthy. We prefer lively street cafés, patisseries, great restaurants, and the buzz of Paris, so it didn’t suit us. You’ll need to walk 20 minutes or more to the Marais or St German for that.

The rooms were the one place where the splendor slipped a little, with worn furnishings that felt more old than grand. Prices are high, yet Le Bristol Paris is still one of my top choices for real Parisian luxury. The courtyard and Michelin-starred restaurants were unforgettable, and the elegant shared spaces, attentive service, and palace-like charm were lovely. I’d choose it again.

We were seven girls and left shocked by how we were treated. The older man at the entrance who checks the stamps spoke to us rudely, in a condescending and completely inappropriate way. We won’t return to this hotel. We’ve found service far more welcoming elsewhere.

Le Bristol made us feel at home, and I can’t recommend the team enough. We stayed the week after Fashion week this year, and every interaction was outstanding. The concierge was amazing, the bellmen knew our names and welcomed us whenever we came and went, and reception addressed us by name too. They even walked us to our room and showed us around. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed in, better than the Ritz in Paris. You won’t regret staying here!
