Le Ferdinand - St-Paul Serviced Apartments

We were left stranded because the property never sent the self check-in instructions and wouldn’t respond to us. The Expedia listing said they’d provide them 72 hours before arrival. I emailed two days ahead and called on the day, but got no reply. Expedia also tried to reach them and was ignored. Avoid at all costs.

Housekeeping was great every day, but communication was terrible, and I found them deceitful. If you book, use Airbnb, since you need an advocate to deal with them. I watched the prices for available units change daily, and making changes to a reservation was difficult. The apartment I rented was very worn, with damage nearly showing. The refrigerator didn’t work. I reported it on the first night and asked repeatedly for compensation because we needed it to store medication. They never fixed it or compensated us, just kept giving me the runaround. I ended up filling the bathroom sink with cold water every day to keep refrigerated items cool. Garbage was kept in a first-floor closet beside the elevator. The smell of rotting trash and fumes from the restaurant reached the bedroom on the third floor. This isn’t a boutique hotel, and housekeeping was the only hotel service. It could be great, but it misses the mark.

The location is perfect, but that’s the only good thing I can say. Our room was worn and shabby, the TV and wifi didn’t work, and we had no hot water at all during our four-day stay. I contacted them right away. Through WhatsApp customer service, I was first told to fix it myself using a water tank that wasn’t even there. The problem still wasn’t fixed, and I’ve been trying to sort it out with them for a month now. They keep saying it’s been passed to the manager, but when I ask for the manager’s number so I can call directly, they go quiet. The customer service is outrageously bad, and it’s incredibly frustrating that they aren’t acting on this. Judging by other reviews, I’m not the only one who’s had this kind of experience. Absolute madness.

Staff communication was quick and smooth. When a light bulb went out during our stay, they replaced it the very next day. The apartment at Le Ferdinand was nicely decorated, with extras like Rituals products and a Nespresso machine. The bed let it down for me: it had no headboard and didn’t look as luxurious as in the photos. Still, we had a great stay and would happily book again.
