Le Matissia made a lovely base for exploring Paris. We loved the atmosphere, the light, and how spacious the honeymoon suite felt. There are great places to eat nearby, along with a well-stocked supermarket, an Organics store, the metro, and a lovely little park. Gare du Nord is close too, handy if you're arriving by EuroStar. Some of the room furnishings could use a refresh. We also would have liked a better equipped kitchenette, since we cook while traveling for dietary reasons. That didn't take away from our enjoyment of Le Matissia or our appreciation of the stay.

The rooms aren't large, which is pretty normal if you're used to traveling around Europe. Ours came with complimentary drinks, coffee, and snacks, which was great. The location was hard to beat, with places to eat all around and somewhere to do laundry nearby. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The metro is a two minute walk, and reception gave us reloadable cards, so we didn't have to keep buying tickets. We really enjoyed our stay.

Rooms are attractive, though not always practical, and the bed was huge and comfortable. Getting into the hotel was easy, with clear instructions. We could see the Eiffel Tower and other landmarks from the room. The staff were charming and helpful. The water fountain was especially useful in those extreme temperatures. It's also well placed for the stations, with lots of good coffee shops and places to eat on Rue Fauborg Poisonniere.

this hotel is DESPICABLE. they gave us false information, and the housekeeping was awful. when my daughter lost a very important item in our previous room, they refused to help. reception was really rude when we couldn't speak french.

The rooms are more spacious than those at other small hotels in Paris. Great location, lovely staff. Highly recommend.
