The staff were kind and helpful, even keeping my bags while my room was being prepared after my early flight. That let me head out for a walk without worrying about my luggage. Breakfast was simple, fresh and tasty, especially the baguette, cheese and yogurt. I loved the room’s character, the furniture, and the comfortable bed and pillows. I slept really well for both nights. The bathroom was clean and practical, and from my fifth-floor room I enjoyed the view and the Parisian architecture outside the windows. This is a lively neighborhood, but it felt calmer than the main tourist areas. I walked to Montparnasse Cemetery, then through Jardin du Luxembourg, past Saint-Sulpice and Saint-Germain-des-Prés to Notre Dame, about 40-45 minutes. Charming streets, schools and boulangeries made the walk a lovely way to experience Paris. From Notre Dame I followed the Seine to the Eiffel Tower, then took another route back, about 50 minutes. I enjoyed seeing different streets and neighborhoods along the way. The metro is a few minutes from the hotel, and I used it for longer trips like Montmartre. I’d have liked a few more days to explore Montparnasse. The Catacombs are also just a few minutes away if you’re interested. I’d definitely stay at Villa Montparnasse again.
