Le Pera Hotel

The room was tiny and filthy, and it looks 30 years old or more, with no refurbishment in between. Half the sockets didn’t work. This certainly isn’t a four-star hotel, more like one or two stars. And the breakfast was awful. I can’t recommend it at all. Try to stay away, even if the prices look attractive.

The supposed four-star rating is a joke. The stars are about the same size as the bedrooms, which are really, really tiny. Cleaning was doubtful, the TV wouldn’t work, and there was no phone in the room to contact reception. We only spotted three staff members. Breakfast was bread, croissants, butter, coffee and milk straight from the bottle, with nothing else available, and it didn’t start until 8:00. There were no other kitchen services. The worst hotel I can recall. I’d give it zero stars if that were possible.

The room wasn’t cleaned one day, even though we’d been out all morning. We came back at 15:00 to rest, but it still hadn’t been done. After we rested, they said they couldn’t clean it anymore because the cleaning ladies had to leave. They’d had all morning. We were only in Paris for two days, and the interior courtyard view of the boiler room was pretty annoying. On top of that, the air conditioner didn’t work properly on the first day, when it was 40 degrees in Paris. They knew it wasn’t working well in that room and gave it to us anyway. Our experience at this hotel was awful.

Our booking included breakfast, but at the end they charged us 86 euro. I wouldn’t have minded paying if the breakfast had been okay, but it was the most horrible thing I’d ever seen. They charged extra even though it was part of the booking. They’re scammers. The room was absolutely not worthy of four stars, maybe two or one. I was shocked when I saw it and felt we’d paid far too much for such a scam. At least the location was good, a 25-minute walk to the Champs-Élysées.
