Hôtel Léonard de Vinci

The rooms were clean, but the place felt hostile. A manager screamed at staff every morning, and the rooms looked nothing like the staged photos. There was tape holding the curtains to the wall and a broken toilet paper rack. They charged €249 threat for a 30-minute visitor, based on a rule I couldn’t find on Booking or their own site. I’d book somewhere else if you want a stress-free stay.

The stay was a total disappointment, and I didn’t feel safe. The doors seemed old and insecure, and their loud, disturbing noise every time someone opened or closed one made it feel as if someone was trying to get into our room, especially at night. Neighbors were noisy around 1 a.m. and staff didn’t intervene. The hotel wasn’t worth the price. There was no air conditioning or internet connection, and the elevator smelled awful.

For a two star hotel and a low budget stay, you have to keep that in mind. The room was clean, and there are two different metro stations about ten minutes away. At night there are lots of restaurants and coffee shops where you can eat and drink. On the downside, the room was too small, noisy in every possible way, and the water pressure was extremely low.

The room doors were old, close together, and made a horrible noise whenever someone opened or closed one. We kept thinking someone was trying to unlock our room, and at night it was scary to feel like anyone could just open the door and walk in. Our neighbors were especially loud around 1 am, and nobody said anything to them. We didn’t feel secure, and the whole stay was awful. The hotel isn’t worth the money. There was no air-conditioning or internet connection, and the elevator smelled terrible.
