Les Jardins du Marais

We stayed in one of the hotel’s inner buildings, a clean, pleasant place to rest after long days exploring the city. The reception team were polite, helpful and good about service requests. Saint Sebastian Froissant station is just around the corner on Beaumarchais boulevard. There’s also a short walk south to the 69 bus, which goes to the 1st quarter of the historic building, museums and monuments. I’d certainly consider booking here on another Paris trip.

Breakfast was delicious, and Eva and Hada made the mornings especially nice with their kindness and patience. My family and I had a wonderful stay at Les Jardins du Marais on our first trip to Paris. The location was excellent, the rooms comfortable and the service fantastic. We’d gladly come back and recommend the hotel to anyone visiting.

Lidia made a real difference during my stay at Les Jardins du Marais. She kindly handled my ironing and made everything feel easy and smooth. That personal attention means a lot. The hotel is well located, calm and comfortable, and everyone I met on staff was polite and welcoming. My room was clean and nicely presented, a relaxing place to return to in Paris. I had a very positive stay and would happily come back.

I was charged in my local currency in the end, despite asking at check-in to pay the hotel tax in euros. I wanted to avoid the currency conversion fees from Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), but that request wasn’t followed through. When I raised it, the manager, John, processed the payment and repeatedly said he couldn’t have made a mistake because he’d been doing the job for many years. I asked to void and cancel the transaction, but was told that wasn’t possible, even though card payments can typically be voided before the end-of-day settlement. He continued to insist everything was correct until I asked him to compare my receipt with another guest’s. After seeing the difference, he acknowledged the issue and assured me the transaction wouldn’t be charged, the finance department would cancel it, and I’d instead pay in euros as requested. That never happened. The error itself is disappointing, but so is the way it was handled. There was no ownership, genuine apology or follow-through on the promised fix. I expected better professionalism, customer service and accountability from a reputable hotel. A promise was made and not kept.
