Libertel Austerlitz Jardin des Plantes

The breakfast was basic and felt overpriced, and the elevator wasn’t working, which added to the inconvenience. The biggest disappointment came at check-in. I arrived at 10:00 a.m. after a long, tiring flight. I knew the official time was 2:00 p.m. and wasn’t expecting a room early, so I only asked to leave my luggage. They let me do that. After going out for a while, I came back at 1:00 p.m., just an hour before check-in, but the front desk wouldn’t let me in even a little early. I was tired and cold from traveling, and they showed no flexibility or understanding. I wasn’t satisfied with the stay and wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

Our front-facing room stayed reasonably quiet, and the room itself was a decent size. The continental breakfast was good, too. There are excellent restaurants all around, and the hotel sits near Jardín de plants, a metro stop, and a train station, basically at the edge of the Latin Quarter.

The room was very clean and recently renovated. It was *tight* for space, but the price made that tradeoff feel more than fair. I loved having the switches and an outlet right beside the bed, which is what everyone wants in a hotel and seems so hard to find in Europe. I’m a pretty picky hotel guest, and I was really happy here. I’d recommend it to any traveller (:

We were there October 3rd to October 8th, my parents and I in a triple room. The station was close, so getting around was convenient. The staff were kind and helpful, the room was clean, and housekeeping did a thorough job. When we asked for towels, they arrived right away. Thank you! If I get to visit Paris again, I’d love to stay here.
