Breakfast was simple, but there was enough choice and it was good. Our room was small, though clean and quiet, and everyone on staff whom I met was friendly and helpful. It’s comfortable rather than fancy, with the metro and several restaurants nearby. We stayed a week, and I’d stay again.

I’ve stayed here several times. It’s a straightforward, basic hotel with good prices for Paris, and they’ll negotiate if you’ve found a better rate on another website. The beds are comfortable, the white cotton linen is nice, and there’s a shower room behind a sliding door. As a woman traveling alone, I really appreciate having reception open 24 hours. I didn’t try the heating or air conditioning since I was there in September. I’ve had rooms facing the city and the courtyard, and both were fine. The city-facing one is a bit noisier but still good. The double room works for one person, though I think it might be a little small for two. Staff are helpful, especially at reception. Abul is amazing, and the evening man’s name starts with an F. He’s French. Jaures Metro is two minutes away, and shops, including a handy Monoprix, boulangeries, and restaurants are all around. Butte de Chaumont Parc is a short walk, and Gare du Nord is about 15 minutes on foot. It’s a well-run place, and the prices are good for Paris. Honest review, I recommend it.

I couldn’t get through to anyone when I tried contacting the hotel through its website, so I’m leaving this review here. My reservation was canceled without any warning, leaving me scrambling to find somewhere to stay at the last minute. That was a memorable lesson in how unreliable a place can be and how little regard it can show for a guest’s plans. I wouldn’t suggest staying here if you need a guaranteed place to sleep. If uncertainty and the excitement of not knowing where you’ll end up are your thing, though, this might suit you. Thanks for the unforgettable experience.

Staff are friendly, speak English, and are happy to help. They also let you leave your bags after checkout, which is a huge plus. There are cafes, a grocery shop, and a Tobaco shop right next door, and the metro is easy to reach. It’s a solid place in a good location. The rooms have very thin walls, so you may hear noise from the hall sometimes. It didn’t bother me much, though I really missed having slippers in the room. I’d definitely recommend this sweet place.

Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the hotel is clean, with rooms that were big enough for me. There’s a small lobby, a Carrefour two doors away for snacks, wine, or water, and a few bistros around the corner. The area felt safe and busy, with people jogging, mothers with strollers, and commuters around. The metro was busy too. I can only speak to being out until about 10, since I didn’t stay out later. But one morning, while I was in the lobby, the front desk clerk demanded to know my room number and asked if I was staying there. When I asked why he wanted to know, he hassled me, raised his voice, and kept saying, “Give me your room number!!” He was rude, pushy, and arrogant. I was dressed nicely and had just come down the elevator, ready for the day, so I didn’t understand what I’d done to deserve that aggression. I felt so upset and thought he might come around and hit me. He was a big guy, and I was traveling alone. I was shaking when I finally gave him the number and left, and then wondered if he might have my room robbed while I was out. It left a terrible impression, and I can’t recommend the place for that reason.
