I was covered in itchy bites even after moving rooms. Bedbugs seemed to be everywhere in the hotel, and later that night I saw other guests going through the same thing in the room I'd first left, which hadn't been properly sanitized. The replacement room was smaller and dirtier, with dust and grime especially under the beds. I couldn't see any cleaning staff, just a disheveled bartender who said he was the owner, receptionist, and cleaner all at once. He seemed perpetually inebriated, neglected the cleaning, and flirted with guests in a way that felt inappropriate and disrespectful of their privacy and comfort. Hygiene was clearly not a priority from the moment I entered my first room, where I found bedbugs infesting the bed. Even though the hotel offered to move me, the pests followed. My time at LPL hotel was a complete disaster. Between the bedbugs, poor cleanliness, and lack of professionalism, I'd tell anyone considering it to look elsewhere and save themselves the discomfort and frustration.

The fire incident left me shaken. We were told to stay in our third-floor room because there was smoke coming from a first-floor room. Four fire trucks and two police cars arrived, and two firefighters checked whether smoke was coming from our room. The crew seemed to put the fire out and had packed up by 7 in the morning. There were no fire alarms in the room, which we only learned that way. The stairwell also felt hazardous and was usually unlit. On top of that, loud people outside kept us awake until 3 a.m., and a woman's screams from another room woke us both at 6. The room looked unpainted and as if it hadn't been cleaned before my partner and I arrived. The shower door stuck when we tried to open it, and the window wouldn't close properly. It was a horrible stay. I'll never come back, and anyone planning to should look for somewhere better and steer well clear.

This worked out as a decent budget deal for me, since I was out all day and only needed somewhere to sleep. It's in a good spot for avoiding touristy areas while still being within Texas, near lots of restaurants and nightlife. LPL is very basic, basically a bed and bathroom, and not for anyone wanting a nicer experience. The place is run down, with holes and cracks in the walls, and the room felt somewhat dirty. The bathroom is tiny, and linens are only provided if you leave a 10€ deposit, which is returned. There's no elevator, even though rooms go up to the third floor, and definitely no room service. The key arrangement is unusual: when you go out, you hand your key to the barman at LPL's cafe, and he keeps it until you come back.

There's no real staff, just a man renting rooms to tourists and making money from it. The place is dirty and shady, and I wouldn't even give it one star. It doesn't deserve to be called a hotel. Don't consider staying here, you'll just end up going to another hotel. This is a scam!

The room was clean, but very small and a little noisy. There wasn't much space around the bathroom, and there was no air conditioning.
