We really enjoyed our stay. The room and lobby were spotless, and the staff were polite and knew their stuff. It was also lovely to open the windows and hear the city humming in the distance. Most of the city attractions were close by, too.
We booked two rooms for our vacation at the end of September. The hotel was clean, and the service staff were always helpful, friendly, professional, and welcoming. When my health condition made a room change necessary, Mr. Van and his colleague arranged it for the following day. I’d definitely recommend the hotel.
The room smelled strongly of mold, and there was no hot water. With the cold weather, we couldn’t take a shower. One of us has allergies, so the musty smell and mold made the stay especially unpleasant. We packed our things and left on the second night, then had to find another hotel and pay extra just to cover basic needs. This was unacceptable and disappointing. I’m very sorry, but I can’t recommend staying here.
The staff were very polite and check-in was quick. It’s easy to get around from here, with bus and metro lines nearby. You can walk to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysées, while the neighborhood still avoids feeling too touristy. There are several fast food chains and lots of restaurants close by.
The location was fine, but the rest of this stay was awful. We booked three nights and didn’t finish them. We’d planned this trip as our fifth wedding anniversary getaway, but my wife became very ill before we left. I contacted the hotel to ask to cancel and explained the situation, but they refused to consider it. We paid over €400 for the three nights, and the chat staff were rude and unhelpful, so we went anyway. There was no parking available when we arrived, despite what the hotel page said. I contacted Booking straight away, and they opened an investigation that’s still pending. The garage suggested on a piece of paper was said to be a seven-minute walk away. It was actually at least a ten-minute drive or a 25-minute walk. It was dirty, had no monitoring, opened onto the street, and its concrete spaces were so tight you couldn’t open the car door. We couldn’t use it and had to find another garage for an extra €50 a night. The room was extremely small. Opening the door put you right at the bed. The WiFi, TV connection, and phone didn’t work. The room was cold, and when we raised it, an employee said, “It is cold in December.” The kettle kept boiling unless I stopped it manually, and I burned myself. There was no power by the bedside to charge my phone. Only after we said we’d leave a day early did they offer an upgrade. I’d asked about an upgrade when we arrived because of our anniversary and the problems, but none was offered then. We were so disappointed by that point that we declined and left. I’ve booked hotels all over the world through Booking, and this was the worst experience I’ve had. This is not a four-star hotel, at most two stars. We’re still asking for a refund. Update, 12-01-2025: The hotel is lying in its response. I’d raised all these complaints during the day and evening, and they were written down. Their receptionist MOHAMMED came to my room to fix the Chromecast and saw for himself that the internet and phone didn’t work. Don’t lie. The facilities don’t match a four-star rating, and I warn people not to book here if they don’t want to risk their money and a good trip.
