Maison Albar Hotels Le Champs-Elysées

The staff were amazing, but as someone who comes nearly every year, I expected better treatment as a repeat customer. I booked an executive room again specifically for a view of the arc de triomphe, as I did last time, but got a first-floor room with no view. When I asked for a higher room, I was told they were all booked. Please don’t get me wrong, the staff were amazing, but if you want repeat customers, you need to look after them.

At 3 Avenue Mac Mahon, 75017 Paris, the hotel is only a few minutes on foot from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, which makes sightseeing and shopping convenient. Guests often mention clean rooms and friendly, attentive staff. It has a boutique feel, with around 40 rooms according to some listings, even though it’s labelled a 5-star hotel. Free WiFi and a bar/lounge are among the amenities, and Charles-de-Gaulle–Étoile metro is nearby.

The beds were really comfortable, and housekeeping did a thorough job. The hotel is quiet and in a great spot, just steps from the Arch, and the staff were very nice. A few things let the stay down: the toilet, hairdryer, and fridge in our room didn’t work. They also advertise 24-hour room service, but the overnight staff said there was nothing available when we tried to order. The app still let us choose items and pay, but nothing arrived. When we went downstairs, staff told us we wouldn’t be getting the order, even though we’d already paid.

We had no problems at all during our stay, which is unusual for us since we travel a lot. When our flight plans changed, we extended by one night without any trouble. The neighborhood is easy to explore on foot, with plenty of good restaurants and sights nearby, and the beer station next door is worth checking out. After a long trip from California, we were warmly welcomed. The reception staff were patient with our limited French, let us check in hours early, and had us in a room within five minutes. Since it was my wife’s birthday weekend in Paris, they even upgraded us. Our room was spotless and nicely decorated, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was well stocked. We loved the hotel and would recommend it.
