Maison Gaité

We came in April 2026 as a family traveller looking for a relaxed base, easy transport, and good food. Maison Gaite in Montparnasse was a quiet little surprise, with a lively neighborhood outside but none of the nearby tourist-area chaos. It feels local, unpretentious, clean, and calm, and the prices felt fair for Paris compared with the central hotspots. Rooms are functional rather than luxurious, and this isn't a destination hotel, just a smart, practical base. Breakfast was the standout: fresh Comté cheese, properly made scrambled eggs rather than the usual powdered version, and a simple, high-quality spread that sets you up for the day. The location gives you options without the tourist overload. One useful tip for a group of four: think twice about daily metro passes. A Navigo-style setup can run ~€10 per person initially, while a short Uber may cost around €12 total and be faster and simpler. Mix transport as needed, metro for distance and rideshare for convenience. A solid, well-balanced stay, especially for families or small groups. 4.3/5

The hotel is in an extremely convenient location. The surrounding streets are busy, but the noise wasn't an issue at all. Our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and I'd happily recommend it. The staff were kind, helpful, and professional, and the 24-hour reception meant we felt looked after at any time. Special thanks to Monica and Mariloo !! Heating was available around the clock, which made the room especially comfortable. It was cleaned daily with great attention to detail, something we really appreciated.

Paris may be tiny, but this hotel makes the most of it, from the unbelievably comfortable beds to the lounge with beautiful music. From stepping off the side street into the lobby, the place feels beautifully curated, and the gracious staff greeted us with a warm lemon ginger drink. It just feels like the best of Paris 🗼❤️ Would stay again in a heartbeat ❣️

It's Christmas, December 25th, around 0 degrees Celsius, about 31 F, and the heating in my room isn't working. I begged them to fix it until 2-3am, but they never did. I asked for a different room and got no response, ever. The bathrooms are horrible and the sheets aren't clean. I really don't usually leave reviews, but seriously, do not come here. You should never set foot anywhere near this building.
