Maison urbaine

The metro is really close, and getting to the Louvre took about 20 minutes. Even though the hotel seems far from the centre and major sights, the connections are good enough that tourist spots don’t feel out of reach. There are cute bistros nearby too, and I’d recommend Le Bestringue. Breakfast was good, Parisian-style, with fresh croissants, pain-au-chocolats, and baguettes, just right for fueling a day out. The place is chic, the rooms are cozy and high quality, and the staff were warm every time we came through, day or night, always greeting us with a smile and a “bonjour/bonsoir.” The whole stay was wonderful. Thanks to everyone, and bonne chance!

After I left an honest negative review on Booking.com, the hotel replied in a way that misrepresented what happened. They said I had threatened to post a bad review unless they gave me a full refund. That is false. I did ask for a full refund because of the problems I experienced, but I never made that threat. I can support this with the complete email exchange between me and the hotel. I find this conduct unprofessional and unethical. In all my years travelling, I’ve never had a hotel publicly misrepresent a guest like this.

The room was small but nice enough to stay in, and it was clean, though a little cold. WiFi worked well enough. Reception staff were very polite and ready to help, and the hotel has an elevator, so getting luggage up to the room wasn’t a problem. I’d recommend staying here.

The metro is about a minute away, and there’s a fantastic bakery close to it with amazing pastries. Our room was great, though the shower felt a bit cramped but was adequate. The lift was useful, just small. Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the person working when we arrived on Saturday.
