I didn’t have enough time in Paris to explore or really enjoy the area, but the hotel itself had a lot of charm. It’s close to the metro and to local bakeries with excellent French baguettes. The lift and bathroom are tiny. That was manageable for me since I’m petite and had just one wheeled suitcase. The location was pretty good too.

The room is on the small side, with little storage and not many shelves or cabinets for your things. Still, the staff were warm, friendly and quick to respond, which made the stay pleasant. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and they provide shower gel, body lotion, a kettle, tea bags and instant coffee. It’s also conveniently close to Sorbonne University, with plenty of grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance.

Our room was on the first floor, or what we’d call the second floor in Canada, and came with a little outdoor patio, table and two chairs. Buildings enclosed it completely, so we didn’t have any safety concerns. The queen bed was comfortable, there were lots of pillows, and extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. We liked the period style, paintings and furniture. I just wish there’d been a chest of drawers. The room was small by North American standards, though bigger than we expected. Hotel Minerve itself was pristine, and the staff were friendly and patient with my attempts at French, even though they all spoke English. The Latin Quarter location on the Rive Gauche is fantastic, with restaurants, cafés and a good grocery store selling lots of ready-made meals. It’s an easy walk to the Seine, Île de la Cité and Notre Dame, and the tour boats stop along that stretch of river. There was a kettle with coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the room, plus a lobby machine that made excellent coffee for 1 Euro. I’m not sure why it only has 3 stars, perhaps because there’s no full restaurant. They do serve a buffet breakfast with the usual pastries and hot dishes, which looked excellent. We skipped it and picked up something light while walking to our morning destinations. We loved Hotel Minerve and highly recommend it.

We spent six nights here and just walked everywhere we wanted to go. We’re in our 70s and didn’t need a metro or taxi. The front desk and room staff were very pleasant, and our room was clean and practical. Even on a busy street, we barely heard traffic from the third floor. Looking forward to seeing Kevin and the rest of the staff next time.

I liked how easy it was to settle in after long days exploring Paris. My room was cozy, clean and comfortable, with a bed that was genuinely good to sleep in. Inside, the hotel feels warm, calm and well cared for, while the classic exterior has an almost storybook look. Hotel Minerve is tucked into the Latin Quarter, with a walkable, charming setting and that old Paris feel that makes you feel part of the city. The staff were welcoming, kind and quietly attentive. Nothing felt rushed or impersonal, and that care made a difference. It isn’t a flashy place, which is part of the appeal. It feels authentic and reliable, and I’d happily return. I’d recommend it to anyone after a classic Paris stay with heart.
