Montmartre Le Moulin

Great place, great chef. The chef knows a lot about pairing wine with food. I’ll be back soon.

A quick glass of wine before dinner turned into a four-hour visit. My wife and I had been told to stop by Le Petit Moulin for a drink when we first arrived in Paris, and everyone working there made us feel at home. We ended up spending the evening with the people who came through the restaurant. Thanks to PJ and the staff for making us so comfortable, and for the delicious food.

The cook kept checking whether I liked my food, and the server was welcoming and polite. It’s a small, cozy place with a rustic local feel, run by what seems like a group of friends, right across from my hotel. I had a beer, a ribeye cooked just how I like it, and French onion soup to go. I also met the owner PJ, who apparently speaks Filipino. What a great guy. He even offered me a shot of his rum and fruit concoction. I’ll be back more than once while I’m in Paris.

The Beef Bourguignon was beautiful, and the Escargot and French Onion soup were both excellent. If you’re looking for somewhere not too far from Moulin Rouge, Le Petit Moulin is worth a visit. PJ, the owner, is a fun guy with a great personality and a fantastic host. The woman serving us was amazing too. Thanks for a great experience.
