Communication with the staff was difficult, and they were unhelpful. Apart from the receptionist, most spoke limited English and sometimes would only communicate in Italian, which we don’t speak. We supplied proof including our reservation details and photos of the studio we booked. Later, we saw other Booking.com reviews describing similar mismatches, including both upgrades and downgrades. We had booked through Booking.com a studio advertised with one double bed and one sofa bed. When we arrived, we were assigned a studio with one sofa bed and two bunk beds. We showed the receptionist the reservation in the Booking app, but they insisted the sofa bed counted as the double bed. Another staff member confirmed the assignment was right and proposed that we pay extra for a different room, even though our booking already covered the advertised studio. As this was our first trip with our infant, we needed a double bed, so the assigned room didn’t work for us. We had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. The property canceled our stay the next day and charged the full reservation amount minus the cleaning fee, which also prevented us from leaving a Booking.com review. We asked Booking.com and the property for a refund, but the property never acknowledged the mix-up or answered the refund requests, as Booking.com customer service confirmed. We also asked for the company’s legal details, which should be public, but were only told it was managed from Italy and received no details. Over one month, we requested an invoice for the charged amount at least seven times, through Booking.com emails to the property and through customer service. We never received it, even though we understand it is a legal right. Nearly a month ago, Booking.com customer service last said the property would send it “that same day or very soon,” but it still hasn’t arrived.

The location is good, but the air conditioning was broken in both rooms. It was very loud and kept disturbing my sleep.

The kitchen has what you need to make a simple meal, and the place is quiet at night, comfortable for resting and in a good location. There’s an elevator that fits two people. Reception isn’t open around the clock, but the staff are very friendly. I’d come back if the mattress were better.
